Japanese Language Course
In this course, students study the four language abilities in a well-balanced way through a practical curriculum.
The course objective is to aid students in enrolling in higher educational institutions, with the emphasis on accuracy
in understanding and precision in communication.

- 1.5-year program is recommended for students with limited Japanese study background.
Business Japanese Interpreting Course
This course is different from Japanese Language Course; it aims to prepare students to enter the workforce.
4 key points of the curriculum:
(1) Business interpretation and translation skills
(2) Business Japanese
(3) Japanese business manner and culture
(4) Advanced Japanese communication proficiency

Japanese Language Teacher Training Course
“My dream is to teach Japanese but it’s not my mother tongue.”
This program is for someone with the dream, to teach Japanese in their home country.
3 Characteristics of the curriculum:
(1) This course makes it possible for non-native Japanese speakers to become Japanese teachers.
(2) Both educational theory and training on teaching techniques are emphasized.
(3) Coursework is specially designed for you to deepen the understanding of grammar, phonetics, theories of Japanese culture and language.

School Location

BIL is located in Shinjuku, the heart of Tokyo. On the same campus, you can find a college, university and graduate schools, creating a rich learning environment.
The nearest station is Shinjuku Station. It takes a 7 minute walk to get to the school from the station.
From Narita airport, it takes about 90 minutes to get to Shinjuku via Narita Express train or Airport Limousine (bus).
From Haneda airport, you can take the monorail then transfer to the JR’s Yamanote Line at Hamamatsucho station, and alight at Shinjuku station. The journey takes about 50 minutes.
Dormitory
There are 3 dormitories available for international students, namely
Hatsudai International Student House, Fuchu International Student House and Kichijoji International Student House.
Hatsudai International Student House (females only)
Directions:
Take a train and alight at Hatsudai station on the Keio line, followed by a 5-minute walk to the Student House.
Alternatively, you can take a 25-minute walk from the campus.
Fuchu International Student House
Directions:
Take a train and alight at Fuchu station on the Keio line, followed by a 5-minute walk to the Student House.
The total journey time is 35 minutes.
Kichioji International Student House (females only)
Directions:
Take a train and alight at JR Chuo Line Kichijoji station, followed by a 5-minute walk to the Student House.
The total journey time is 20 minutes.
Facilities and Services
- Each room is equipped with a bed, desk and chair, mini-kitchen, small refrigerator, toilet, wash basin, bath, closet, shoe cabinet,
and air-conditioner. Common areas include reading space, lounge, lobby, washing machine/dryer. - Each student house has a lobby intended for gathering with friends and family or just to sit and relax.
- There is also a live-in dormitory manager available to offer on-site assistance to students.
Cost
Each dormitory has different costs. It is between 430,000 and 502,000JPY for 6 months including rent, facility and membership fees.
