School Highlights

Globalized University With More Than 140 Years Of History

HOSEI University, established in 1880 as the Tokyo School of Law, is a Japanese university with a long and storied history. It was the first private university in Japan to establish faculties of law and social sciences, and the second to establish a Faculty of Business Administration.

HOSEI accepted 1,515 international students in 2019, as part of the Top Global University Project, and boasts 260 partner universities in 47 countries and regions (as of February 2022).

Campus Location

HOSEI has three campuses in Tokyo. The Ichigaya campus is located in the center of Tokyo. Studying in Tokyo gives you access to museums, pop culture, shopping, and entertainment to enrich your experience. Attractions such as Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, Shibuya, and Ginza are less than 30 minutes from the Ichigaya campus by train.

English-based Degrees

HOSEI comprises of 15 faculties and 38 departments, meaning prospective students have a wide variety of programs to choose from. The university offers 4 English-based Degrees which are conducted entirely in English, so students who do not have Japanese language proficiency are able to graduate with a degree from HOSEI University.

To educate students as Street-Smart Global engineers, Kyoto University of Advanced Science established a completely brand new Faculty of Engineering program in 2020. This program is conducted in 100% English, and students can apply with just English proficiency, while no Japanese proficiency will be required.
